1) Consider the shape of the letterform when choosing a typeface.
2) Is itserif, sans serif or another category?
3) Think about the baseline and x-height of the letters.
4) Descenders extended below the baseline; ascenders extend above.
5) Look at features linke ears, arms, shoulders and counter.
Choosing a Display Type
1) Display type has personality and emotion.
2) To choose a typeface for a business identity, research the target audience.
3) Think about the type's "body language": its posture, cadence and verve.
4) Describe it in adjectives: elegant, fun, zany, quirky?
5) Mock up an identity in context: on packaging, signage, and letterhead.
