McCombs said "the continued growth of the Internet and mobile technology is fueling the increased demand for IT professionals." According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "computer application software engineers will be the fastest growing job category over the next eight years," expanding by 32 percent as the overall workforce expands by eight percent. "Companies are working with local colleges and universities to update curriculum," the Tribune noted. The article also includes a "tips for job seekers" section which covers education, skills and passion.
